Book on the PDF techique is published by Plenum
The atomic pair distribution function (PDF) technique, under development by NIRT researchers, now has a book explaining what it is about and how to do it. The book was coauthored by Prof. Takeshi Egami (U. Tennessee) and NIRT investigator Prof. Simon Billinge (Michigan State U.). It is titled "Underneath the Bragg Peaks: Structural analysis of Complex Materials" and is publishehd by Plenum. A recent review in Materials Today said "If you have an interest in atomic structure of materials, and local structural details in particular, PDF methods can be profoundly useful. I would heartily recommend this book as a starting point if you are considering using PDF analysis in your own work. For more experienced practitioners, this text is a useful reference."
